Hi all
With pseudo seizures, people that do not have epilepsy are not likely to have - possibly a very few % but
would have to be under extreme circumstances. The epileptologist that were explaining to us, that should he
have what our daughter was having he could not have one. The pseudo are real, look real and are to be
treated serious, and most all people with epilepsy have them during their lifetime and possibly don't know it.
This also is why it is important when a person is in a seizure to keep calm while in one and talk to quietly
as if you would anyone else.

Pseudoseizures often occur with epilepsy, too. I have had both types.

a seizure disorder is a slightly more expansive term tWell han epilepsy. It
completely encompasses "epilepsy" I think- except maybe in the case of
people who are actually having seizures internally even if they don't
manifest themselves externally or even so that they notice themselves. For
the most part they overlap.
As pointed out people with pseudoseizures probably don't have epilepsy. And
a psychiatrist might be able to help them. But a pseudoseizure disorder
still counts as a seizure disorder. For example, this gentleman may have had
a pseudoseizure. He crumbled under an obvious psychological stressor and
only after some time. It could have happened to most people placed in that
situation.
