My son has VNS since Feb. At his last appointment, the setting was changed to 3 min intervals. We don't notice any change in his voice. He is 19. No one has commented on his voice. He does sometimes cough but it is infrequent. When he had the surgery, about 5 days after his voice became hoarse but it was not right after the surgery. They said it would probably go away and it did. My son has Asperger's so he can be a chatterbox at times when he gets telling someone his favorite topic so it must be going off during a time he is talking but it hasn't been noticed.
