RE: [epilepsy] Adrian, re: drinking

Hi Liz d Christine

Yes I agree with what you say completely. I don't think I
have seen posts on this subject and I was curios to know how
other people with seizures handle alcohol. As I said in one
of my previous posts I can't and won't touch spirits but the
very occasional beer is ok but a year or so ago my dad and
uncle gave me a glass of a very strong beer and I felt
really strange. Obviously it was too much for me. I think as
I haven't had a full seizure for over 7 years I will follow
my own instincts on this one but of course be extremely
careful. Obviously I won't drink and drink and bring on a
seizure.

I am on a thousand mg of tegretol a day and my seizures are
very well controlled but I have break through seizures a few
times a year so I have to be careful. I will speak to my gp
about this, I haven't seen a neuro for over ten years, now
that I am in France, I have to go for a check up before too
long in any case.

Anyway, thanks for your views on this.

Regards

Adrien
