Also, don't be afraid to eat something. Dr H is pretty clear that discomfort is one thing, but self-torture is another thing altogether. Be mindful and pay attention to how you're feeling. The first few days were challenging for me, but I wasn't physically miserable. I've been doing this for most of the last eighteen months, and sometimes, if you feel truly debilitated, its better to take in a little nourishment.

The point for me is to listen to your body so that you really do understand the difference between limbic and somatic hunger signals. Its not an automatic process. You'll continuously improve your ability to self-listen.
