When you are in the 24 hour monitoring EEG they will likely take you off
some off the meds to induce a seizure. if they do not for the first
36-48 hours do not worry--it may be that they capture seizures you are
not aware of. The video monitored EEG is much more specific because it
will also monitor your sleep as well. You may also be having partial
seizures that you are not aware of that the monitoring picks up on.
Also, if you think you might be pregnant, find out for sure, and inform
your Drs. This is very important information for them to have. I was
35 when I started to have multiple daily complex partial seizures, 10-12
a day by the time I had a grand mal and was finally diagnosed. One of
the things you need to do Is keep asking questions, of your Drs and of
us, We all know that his is a bit overwhelming, we have been there.

Now he has ordered me to go have video 24 hour monitoring for 5 days. The kicker is that the EMU Nuerologist doe NOT want me to wein off my medication. How am I going to solve this if I don't have seizure? I am also a diabetic I take insulin and glucophage, have depression (on prozac)and I have sleep apnea and sleep with a CPAP machine. All of this at the age of 32. Single and no kids-yet. There is a possibility that I could be pregnant as well. I have not gotten my cycle yet. About four days late. Please help!
