Welcome to the group,
I just joined this year as well. I can relate to many of your concerns. I am scheduled for the 24 hour EEG monotoring this month for 5 to 7 days. Hopefully they will find the cause of the sz since the MRI's and CT's have been normal. Since they will be trying to induce sz, I will not be getting any Keppra. I believe they will keep me on my antidepressant med (zoloft). I am curious to learn more about the hormonal link to sz, since after each episode I will start my period and it does not coinside with a 28 day cycle. Early in the testing phase, I had my heart checked out to make sure all of the valves were closing properly. This site has taught me to keep a journal of events prior, during and after a sz. I am learning my warning signs or aura's. I am also trying to avoid MSG (thanks Craig) nitrates and artificial sweeteners. I think about my new diagnosis a lot and try to look for the positive and feel the love and support that is there if actually ask for it. I have a hard time asking for help, but I see this will be something I am forced to work on.
Keep in touch,
Julie B

> I have new onset seizures that have begun August 2008. Since then I have had 4 more seizures. The last being very baffling to my nuerologist because of the lamitiacal level I had. Now he has ordered me to go have video 24 hour monitoring for 5 days. The kicker is that the EMU Nuerologist doe NOT want me to wein off my medication. How am I going to solve this if I don't have seizure? I am also a diabetic I take insulin and glucophage, have depression (on prozac)and I have sleep apnea and sleep with a CPAP machine. All of this at the age of 32. Single and no kids-yet. There is a possibility that I could be pregnant as well. I have not gotten my cycle yet. About four days late. Please help!
