Charles,
Yes, I have been contacted but not by for of these treatments.
I had answered a message wondering if anybody would be willing
to talk to them about EP. I said I would. But she wanted me
to be in a group where they were testing a new med. Some would
get the new med and some wouldn't.
I don't have very many sz but I have been on Dilantin and Phenabarb
for over 20 years now. It was probably 18 at that time. My last
sz was 2 years ago and before it was 4 years. I told her I wasn't
interested. If I am fairly well controlled-- why should I jinx that
that by trying a new med? She couldn't understand why I didn't
want to.
How long have you been on EP meds? How many have you tried? How
often do you have a sz? If you have only one sz a month that is
probably because you are on at least some of the meds you are on.
Everybody has to find their own combination or meds that work for them.
If you do decide to go off all meds-- please do it very slowly-- like
taking 1 less pill for a week or 2, then another the next week, etc.
When your body is used to these meds and you go off too fast you will
surely have szs.
Whatever treatment you decide to try-- maybe you could start it before
you start going off.
Most people have to try for SSI at least 3 times before it goes thru.
How often have you tried? A lawyer usually helps .
