Aren't plants living things? I have a "relationship" with my succulent collection, feed them, talk to them, doctor them when they're sick, protect them...Maybe some of us get offended when others talk about plants as if they were...I dunno...dead, or insensible?
I just think vegetarians can get a little judgmental sometimes, and don't stop to think that maybe they are the ones being offensive. Plants have life, just like animals.
