Re: [epilepsy] Lamictal and Sweating

For me it was the form of the drugs. The extended release form affected my body. It is a very important medical change whether it's the meds or something else. It's good that you are looking into possible causes. + drugs do a lot of wierd stuff~ My medic alert medicine allergy list iw near 25 over three times the #of meds I'm on. -jenaNdshadow

To jenandshadow, Staci and all others affected,
I've been sweating a hugh bit for alot of years while on various AED's, the possibility that it's the meds. that I'm taking that causes it is a real good point, Currently I'm taking lacosamide 600mgs daily, Lyrica 300mg daily & Keppra 750mgs. daily. I don't think I sweated like this before AED's first used which used. I've been on many different brands but all may affect/cause to this.

Two different long acting forms of medications I have taken did this to me. Doc's said, "early menopause?"
I said, "Easy way to know within a week--
Give me the same medicine without the extended release formula + I promise to tell you if I sweat it!"
I didn't.
Problem solved both times.
Hope it helps...

My husband has recently been changed from Zonegran to Lamictal. He is also on the pain medication Lortab for a back injury. He has begun to experience severe bouts of sweating anytime that he is out in the heat. I am trying to determine if it is the Lamictal or the Lortab causing the issue. Please let me know if you are on Lamictal and have a problem with heat / sweating.
