Pat,
I had a 24 hour EEG about 1 1/2 years ago. When I went to the hospital the technician hooked all the electrodes to my head and sent me home with a type of monitor box to collect information on the readings. You have to carry the monitor at all times. Sleeping with it can be very uncomfortable. I went back the next day to the hospital and they got the readings out and hooked me up again.
The cost for mine was almost $4000.00 but thank God I have Medicare. I still had to pay about $400.00 for my portion. Then there is the cost to the neurologist just for them to read the results. It is outrageous. But if it is necessary for you, then you should probably have it done.
Hope this helps and good luck. Let me know what you do.
Carolyn

Pat,
How often do you have a sz? There are around 30 meds for szs.
Maybe you need different one or another one added. The 24hour EEG
may tell the Dr.s what they want to know.
