Re: [epilepsy] Your change from Lamictal to Keppra

My daughter is on Keppra. This is the only one that she has been on, they've just had to increase the dosage. It really works for her. After she had her "sleep deprived" EEG her seizures were seeming to come a couple of times a day. But with the Keppra, they stopped overnight! I have heard that it is expensive though. That was one of the things that the dr. was worried about because she is on medicaid and sometimes they make you juump through hoops to get the expensive meds. The good news is that there is a generic though!

Subject: [epilepsy] Your change from Lamictal to Keppra

I was wondering how it might have gone with others who changed from Lamictal to Keppra. I have been on Lamictal several years now and since I still get seizures when asleep, change might be the next step.
I wonder if the Keppra is an expensive as the Lamictal. I pay $360- a month for this. My drug coverage is just Medicare, but any coverage stops when I reach a certain amount for the year.

Your experience with the Keppra or opinion would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Doris
