Vertigo when you turn your head quickly is a symptom that should lead you to an ENT, ear, nose and throat doctor who treats vertigo. It is a particular type of dizziness and it can be treated!! It could be essentially that 'gravel' or debris is floating in your semi circular canals which are your balance system. With the proper treatment, they can get it settled down. Try to take note of which way you turn ( right to left, up or down, ) in as much detail as possible. Do you have any ringing in your ears or sense of pressure? The double vision could be a side affect in that when you are dizzy, your brain tries to sort out all the signals it is getting from all the systems and make sense of it. Or it could be a separate issue. But since you note the dizziness with turning your head, I would go to an ENT.
