RE: [epilepsy] Encephalitis Related Epilepsy

I started having seizures after catching the Epstein Barr Virus from a
friend who came back form Africa with it. It went into viral encephalitis
and 12 years later I still have seizures.

as a result of being over-exposed to the chicken-pox virus while being a
librarian at an elementary school where every other child had chicken-pox. I
had several grad mal seizures and was given meds for one year. One dr said
that it couldn't be possible for me to have a seizure just by being in a
school setting. A younger dr. saw me and took the time to ask me many ?s
about my job. He diagnosed me. You can't go by one dr's opinion, or they
would still be trying to find out why. 20 yrs later the sz's came back, but
I had facts to go by because of the right dr.
