Hi Cathie,
Topamax is quite commonly used in lower doses as a headache
preventative for those with migraine. It works quite well. I was on
it myself for about a year or two. It can make you somewhat foggy
mentally, which is why I went off of it. I have enough problems with
my memory already! Anyhow, quite a number of AEDs have off-label
uses, so the fact that something can prevent seizures in larger doses
shouldn't scare you off.
