Ya'll (yeah I'm from Georgia... lol) know that I have epilepsy, but this post isn't about me... I have a friend that has generalized frontal lobe epilepsy. Her name is Lisa. She's a volunteer at the school I work at, and she's in her late 40s. She's on a high dosage of Neurontin, and her last tonic clonic seizure was Monday, June 29th. Anyway, she called me today and told me she is depressed and is having suicidal thoughts. I get this way when I'm 1-3 days post-ictal too. I know that many people with epilepsy suffer from frequent depression, including me, and this often goes undiagnosed. Lisa lives alone in an apartment, and her family doesn't give a ----- about her. When I'm depressed, I don't really want to talk to anyone. Do you think Lisa's phone call to me could have been a cry for help? I don't want to make this more than it is, but I know that if she did hurt herself, I would put full blame on myself for not calling someone (EMS). Is there anything I should do?
