The hard caplet is inside the lavender and white capsule. I took one apart to see if it was powder like the name brand, and it isn't. It is a hard caplet and doesn't break down as well.
That is when I told my doctor not to write out any prescriptions for generic because I would not take the generic anymore.

I also have to apologize for talking about the generic dilantin on this thread. I thought that was what the subject was about, but it was about generic keppra. Since I don't take keppra, I can't comment on it.

I also had the generic Dilantin but my Dr. changed me to the brand.I have never seen a hard caplet. Mine was a a lavender and whitecapsule. I took them when Medicare D took over for quite a few months.
