Hi Steve,
I have discussed ADD with my doctor. I believe that I have it also. It makes it difficult to pay attention. I was given Effexor XR as an antidepressant. It is supposed to help with both problems.
Stimulants are usually prescribed to help with ADD, but stimulants will lower the seizure theshold, so they are not an option for us.
Our epilepsy meds can cause symptoms similar and problems with our brains may also be a cause. ADD is sometimes referred to as minimal brain dysfuction, but it occurs much of the time in persons who have not been diagnosed with EP.
I have found this difficult to deal with. It makes it difficult to keep my attention on things. My mind often goes from one thing to the next.

Subject: [epilepsy] Does anybody here have adult ADD?
I was just wondering if anybody in the group has Adult ADD or Adult
Attention Deficit Disorder. Reading all the symptoms of it describes
me, big time!!!
Has anybody looked into treatment for this as far as maybe finding a
way to deal with it more as far as maybe learning to work with it in
improving yourself in some way? I would enjoy hearing from others.
Like the epilepsy itself isn't enough fun (smile)! Hey, I'm seizure
free since surgery but still, missing a couple of card in my deck
above the neck (big smile)! Take care, keep a smile on your face!
Steve
