Subject: [epilepsy] How do you relieve congestion from a bad head cold?

My daughter ( 13 ) has been fighting a bad head cold. I know not to
give her sudafed.

I asked her neuro what to give at clinic and she mentioned
Benadryl as safe, but added <ask the pharmacist>. I did and they said
it was not safe. They pharmacist said that ibuphren was not safe to
use <long term>.

I have been using a humidifier, tylenol ( had a fever too) , lots of
liquids and TLC!!!

Right now we are up with plugged ears, and of course heavy congestion.

She has not had much sleep.

We are using the generic of depakote (divalproex) 1500mg 3x daily.

Any advice?
