Re: [epilepsy] Ambulatory EEGs

Thanks for the info. on ambulatory EEG's, Mark! Mine's scheduled for next month, and I'm not particularly looking forward to any part of it - except for hopefully getting some good information from it. I realize, though, that many times the results are just not there. I'm getting ready for an MRI tomorrow. I was reading over the orders and noticed it says "MRI Brain With & Without." I started wondering with and without what??? Didn't realize it meant with and without a contrast dye in my vein until I looked it up online. I'm terrible about needles, so I'm not looking forward to that. Oh, well... Hopefully I'll learn something from it.

I remember having an EEG like that at least once. I was in school (I

think grade school), and I didn't get picked on about it, oddly

enough. I think everyone was more curious about it than anything

else. I guess they knew better than to try to pull the pads off my

head (they were glued on). We had to take fingernail polish remover to

get them off. Unfortunately (I guess) I didn't have any seizures

during that time, so they didn't have anything much to look at (at

least that's what I thought at the time). I hope, if anyone has that

done, that the results show something that gives some insight as to

what kind of EP it is, or at the very least if there are some things

that look like readings of possible seizure activity. Stay strong and

God bless.

Mark
