Re: [epilepsy] Re: pop awake? still happening

There was a time when I was depressed and I was told to get moving -- walk, talk,
go thru a drawer, anything to get moving.

I agree with Julie that it is a good thing to talk. I found out that most people like to
talk about themselves. Those that don't want you to know them usually don't. I have
some pat questions that I ask people to get them to talk. When I knew they had children--
I would ask how many children they had and then go from there. (names, ages, if grown
where they live). Now I live in a retirement center and I ask If they came from Goshen
(my town). If they did I ask where they lived. If they came from another town I would
ask something about the town or some people know from there. If they come from
Ohio ( where I was born) I ask what part of Ohio. etc

Does this give you some ideas? I was used to asking people if they had children but
there are people here who have never been married -- so that wasn't a good place to
start.

I don't understand why the Dr. would give you a med what would make you more
depressed. Did you ask him why?

Thank you to both of u! I am just having a hard time making it through 3 weeks
of deeper depression then I am already in. My doc told me this would happen
before the lexapro starts working. Thing is I have already been in depression
for awhile holding on with my teeth day to day not wanting to get out of bed.
Now he has a med to make me more depressed before the depression should go
away. I went today to like a counselor and let things out and hopefully the
lady that recognized me from before has some good ideas for things for me to
do. Everywhere I go to do volunteer i find myself by myself. They are scared
something will happen to me and they don't want to get in trouble.

I have also lost my taste buds since surgery. I am not eating much. Nothing
tastes right.
Nice to talk to someone.
