I am relatively new at this two.. I think I started about a month ago and snuck up the hours of fasting 15 minutes at I time. Don’t tell Barnaby, but I am finding that breaking at 2 pm and going to 7pm, usually 6 pm is working fairly good for me..
I have more weight to lose than you and I have been fighting weight for a long time..
One thing I have noticed is that I am feeling better. I have autoimmune diseases and other chronic illnesses too and I have to say, spending less energy on digestion, leaves more energy for healing.
I am also realizing that the trick is to just get used to being hungry at times. The stomach is a bit of a nazi when it comes to wanting food or, if you prefer, a two year old throwing a tantrum. You just have to be tough and say NO!
Good luck and don’t give up.. and if you do screw up like I did the other day.. just continue on.
Oh, I am a firm believer in not eating Wheat, especially if you have chronic illnesses.. so while you at it, consider giving up wheat if you haven’t already done so. Truth be told, with eating so much less there are two many foods to choose from as it is and wheat isn’t very nutritious, and white bread is basically glue..

I am new to this. I got the book and the methodology appealed to me. Actually, it reminded me of a suggestion my dad made when I was in my 20's. He told me when he needed to lose a bit he would just have his cup of coffee in the morning and then eat only at night. He has always been a "fan" of fasting and it has helped him maintain a good weight for many years. He is now 85.
Frankly, I was looking for something that will keep me thin for the rest of my life. I have 60 lbs to lose and it seems insurmountable at times.
I have MS. I am not diabetic and do not have prediabetic markers at this time. I do have family, relations that are diabetic and I know that it is up to me to decide to stop this in its tracks.
I am working out with the fast 5 diet and I don't find it hard. I cannot work out for an hour at a time, but 15 minutes here and there.
I'm hopeful. I actually have my husband being supportive of this. We shall see.
Wish me luck. 2nd day after thanksgiving...the fast is cruising.
