Steve,
You are an active guy! Remember when you stopped at my apt
and we went out for pizza?
I don't know if you were reading last August when I had a sz. I
had not had one for 5 years. I fell and couldn't get up. We don't know
how long I was on the floor. We think I fell Wed nite and they found me
Thurs noon. I was awake and talked to people who came to my door
but my brain wasn't working enough to tell them that I was on the floor.
We found that I hadn't taken my meds for 2 1/2 days. Why? I don't have
the slightest idea. I now am on a schedule to take my meds at 8 am and
8 pm. My 2 daughters who live in town call me about 9 am and 9 pm to
check to see it I have taken my meds. I am also using a 12 hour timer.
I've had quite a few falls so now I am wearing a Lifeline that I can press
if I fall again. I haven't fallen since I got it. I'm also using a walker with
a seat now. I don't use it in the apt but I do in the halls and when I walk
outside. My legs are weak.
Nice to hear from you again.
Millie
Subject: [epilepsy] Re: How is everyone
Hi Everybody,
All is good by me. It's been more than 6 1/2 years since I had my LTL, still seizure free (humongous smile)! I've stayed on my meds, didn't reduce dosages either, my choice. Life has changed beyond words since surgery. I've been driving 5 years now, just hit 60,000 miles on my cart. Need to make up for the 20 years I couldn't drive. Still working at the same job in a warehouse, coming on 26 years there in 2 weeks. Very active hiking every week, 52 weeks a year in a hiking club, I hiked 55 miles on a eastern Kentucky trip by the group with 24 other hikers. Hiked in Wisconsin today and realized I now have poison ivy! A first for me. Also, my epileptologist made it aware to me a few years ago I'm slowly developing "essential tremers". People have noticed the past year my hands are shaking more and more. I notice in other ways it's affecting me also. So who knows how It will increase how it affects me in the years to come?
If anybody could ever use a friend to email with or talk with, feel free emailing me at stephenpales@yahoo.com about anything at all. Everybody take care, keep smile on your face!
Steve
