Re: [epilepsy] How is everyone doing?

elizabeth and others,
I hope the pain I'm in today and since april 26 will eliminate any seizures in the future. When 17yo back in '75 and racing moto-x,I crashed when on a jump and broke my tibia (shin bone) and the fibula, also in the lower leg. This resulted in the r. lower leg being 3cms (1.19in) shorter and the ankle beings 5cms (1.9 in) behind where it should had been.On 4/26 I had an External Fixation to repair it,the tibia was split in apart via a laser beam.Eight holes go into or through the bones.I've been wearing an item that it all made of titanium,in it are six daily adjustments which I keep adjusted by a millimeter a day.I always thought this crash was due to me having a seizure cause I was just diagnosed with epilepsy within a year, and thought that I'd probably more.I hope that my seizures were due to the stress of always feeling like a jerk cause of the lump on my shorter leg and thinking that nothing will ever be right.I hope my fixed leg
eliminates my epilepsy.

Hi Everyone!

It's been a rough spring...i totalled my car, then crashed the rental.  Luckily no one was hurt...i ended up with some bruises, but nothing broken.  It was my worst fear realized.  So after exhausting every drug but the super expensive and experimental ones, I am beginning the pre-op tests to have the lesion removed that is causing my seizures.  I am hoping to be able to have the laser surgery rather than the open flap.  I go in for the Video EEG in 2 weeks...i've had one before, but the results are too old.  I have the psych/social worker meeting today.  So if anyone has any great tips, all are appreciated.  Right now the surgery is scheduled for late sept/October, which conflicts with my job (Medicare Open Enrollment!!).

Hope everyone else is doing better!!

elizabeth :)
