Hi Doris.
I had Encephilitis when I was 4 years of age.  which left me with temporal Lobe epilepsy.  I have absences (petit mals).  And they seem to be having more & more as I get older.

If you might have had left temporal surgery or other, I wonder if
you are also experiencing difficulty with memory post surgery. It
has been 15 years since my surgery and I am concerned while thinking
about how much more is this going to change with time. I often have
the feeling of bluffing things when with others since I actually do
not recall what they are talking about. Thanks for your time to read
