Re: [fast5] 1 hour eating window

Listen to your body. If eating 23/1 makes you feel horrid, then it probably isn't good for you (plus, why feel horrid if you don't need to?). If it feels good, then your body probably likes it.

Personally, I think eating is a bit like exercise: if you do hard exercise all day long, it isn't all that good for you (as shown by the skeletons of Roman slaves). Exercising hard for a bit and then resting, that builds bone and muscle. Doing it all the time: too hard on the body. So eating in a short period, I think works better.

Seriously, you have more nerve cells in your gut than you have in your brain, and their likely goal in life is to make you eat right. Your body, at some level, knows what it wants and needs. Fast-5 somehow lets the signals get through better, I think.

Congrats on your progress!

I had a question about the eating window. I have been eating within a 1 hour window now for about 3 days and I feel great.  I am a larger person and have no problem eating 1800-2500 calories in one sitting.  I do make healthy choices, eating lots of salads and fruit, making sure that I don't eat crap.  Sometimes I do.  I've been transitioning into healthy foods for awhile now.  My question however is if my body will have any negative effects long term from reducing my self to a 23/1 (IF).  I know it's only three days so far but I have more energy and have lost 3 pounds. I have notice I wake up about 30 min earlier then my alarm now and it's much easier to get out of bed.  I just want to make sure that I am not calibrating my body in a bad way.  It's funny because now that I think about it I used to eat 1500 calorie meals, 3x a day, so my body is probably ok with slamming it with high calories at once.  I like the idea that my body gets to rest for about 16 hours.  6-7 hours being for digestion.  During the day I sit at a computer so I am pretty sedentary, though I am going to start working out more next year.  Just a little background over the last year I have lost 45 LBS just by making healtier food choices.  I still plan on taking in 1500 - 2500 calories per meal.  So is a 23/1 good or bad?
