[fast5] Breaking through a plateau?

 

Or is this even a plateau?

So, I started around Thanksgiving. By Dec 11, I was down to 133.4 - a loss of about 7 pounds. I felt a cold coming on (and posted here), so, with things to do and no time to be miserable, I broke fast and ate 'normally' for about three days (one day was a snow day here - and it's always a bit harder when I'm home with the kids).

Due to that, the weight climbed again - I lost a week's worth of progress, and it's taken me until *today* to get back down to 133.4.

I'm so discouraged and disappointed - I feel that if I just had stuck with it, I wouldn't have lost so much ground - that I was on a roll that I've completely lost. Since that third day, I haven't broken fast a bit - not even a taste of something. I haven't overstuffed myself during my window, either. It's a normal meal - totally what I would have eaten for dinner previously. I tallied up the calories for one of my meals out of curiosity - 1050 - and after that I made cookies with the kids, so I had two cookies and some milk - and I couldn't even finish the second cookie, because I was full.

I'm not sure what to do to get back on track. Part of why I'm doing this is because there *isn't* anything to count, or keep tight track of. I *hate* counting calories. I *hate* trying to keep track of nutrients. (I'm an English major - I was told there would be no math.) I also generally hate to cook. It's like a science experiment that I fail at. And if it takes longer to make it than to eat it, I'm really not interested. Feels like an utter waste of time - there's so much else I'd rather be doing.

I've never tried 'low' *anything*, really, because of that. (I lost 15-20 lbs on Weight Watchers, but once I got down to 19 points a day, I was just hungry, and it was hard to find food that felt like 'enough' at each meal, when those points were spread throughout the day.) I just know that if it starts to involve too much counting, math, or interminable chopping or pot-watching, it's something I won't stick with, because I hate it all so much.

I know I sound like I'm complaining - I'm just really bummed.

Has anyone here combined a longer water-fast with the plan? I'm wondering if a 3-day water fast might jump-start things again.
