[epilepsy] Re: Hi All

Hi Ashiya,

I had mostly complex partial seizures. Till surgery was having on average 1-7 each month. I never had auras before seizures. But did have auras now and then. Just a few times I had simple partial seizures. Back in 1959 when 15 months old had a grand mal. Didn't have another seizure till just out of high school. I had 2 grand mals 6 months apart.

Here is a simple breakdown on my recovery to my left temporal lobectomy. I was in the hospital for a week. After that couldn't work another 4 weeks. Then the next 2 weeks worked 1/2 days. I couldn't play tennis for a total of 3 months. Now that was frustrating (smile)! I really had to not lift things for the first month after surgery. Also had to be carefull not to bend down where blood would would rush into my head. Its simply a very cautious things to do because they did take a small piece of my brain out (big laugh)!

Jasiah is 8 months old, Joshua is 3 yrs old, and my soon to be 11 year old, Azaria, was recently diagnosed with epilespy this summer. Now that we have the diagnosis, I can honestly say that she has been having the seizures for about 3 years now. It just took them this long to finally figure out what it was. She just had an MRI this morning, which is another story in itself! LOL. I look forward to talking with everyone.
