Re: [epilepsy] VEEG - Video EEG pics

Hi Pat,

I had the Video EEG done too...I went off my meds, and they put me in during the time of my cycle when I have them. NOTHING!! I couldn't believe it. Eventually they had me hyperventilate, and I had such a teeny seizure I missed it, but the monitor picked it up. Don't worry, it happens a lot!! Sometimes they can hook her up and have her do it at home if need be.

Just as an FYI...a great way to remove the glue from her hair is mayo. Between that and a lot of conditioner, it came out. Luckily, I have really short hair :)

Gianna has been in PICU for 6 days undergoing a video EEG to monitor
seizures. Coming home today! Oddly enough, she has had NONE in 6 days even
coming off most of her meds the last couple days. 7 seizures last week on
meds. Amazing how this seems to happen. Is it the lack of exercise, school
and homework stress, etc and the perfect calm environment in the hospital
that cause so many to go seizure free while undergoing these VEEG's?? It
makes me wonder?
We suggested they provide a portable treadmill or something for VEEG
patients to walk on while wired up! The wires are about 10 feet long
allowing for patient mobility and to make it to your bathroom.
These photos show her in bed and with the monitor and video in frame that
watches and records all brain wave activity constantly. Hope these photos
help those who are not familiar with the process understand it better.
