Oh Julie,
I meant that I don't want to figure out a special Atkins-type thing, that might or might not work, when things are going ok for me. Especially when I hate to cook!! I worked w/a nutritionist a few years back, went regularly, and lost 30 lbs. I've kept it off, because I learned what not to eat.
I would always check with a doctor though--I know for me, the ketogenic diet would be a horror show, since there's a history of heart and cholesterol problems in my family.

Hi All
Any kind of a diet is a 'for ever' type thing. It is not something you do and once accomplished quit. That
is the trouble with most dieters. A diet has to be something that is in otherwards a life style change. This
is why a lot of people can not stay with a diet or wonder why it did not work. A change is needed from the
inside out and for life.

Unfortunately, the ketogenic diet is most effective in children, and not in adults :( But, my doctor
recommended the modified Atkins if I wanted...you just eat more fruits and veggies. I really can't be
bothered though to figure out a diet.

I saw this article in the New York Times this week concerning a diet for epilepsy. We talk about it now and
then but seeing the article in a paper felt good since it is epilepsy month. Take care, keep a smile on your
face!
