For the hunger part, I have a couple of things that seem to work:
1. Lemon juice tea, or vinegar in water. Dunno why, but this can help
with hunger pangs.
2. PGX, or konjac powder. This is a fiber, and it makes your stomach
happy. It's very helpful when your stomach starts feeling "hungry" in
a way that is really emotional issues. I think one's stomach can hurt
because of stress, maybe because of churning or acid or hormones?
Anyway, the fiber seems to calm it.
3. Eating fish. Again, I dunno why, but eating a fair bit of fish in
my meal (esp. oily fish) makes me satisfied longer.
4. Plan for food you LOVE. Whatever chaos the family is going through,
plan a meal that you really really want, in your window. Then you can
think about it during the day. When you are moving there is a tendency
to live off junk food, but that backfires. My favorite "easy" food is
smoked salmon ... it's something of a treat, but when I'm travelling
(which is MY major stress point), I buy some and eat it with crackers.

But then (sorry to sound like a country song here) I found out were moving our family of 6 in one week. my oldest is upset he has to change high-schools, my cat needs a $700.00 eye surgery, I have my very first book signing this Friday(nervous how it will go), and my husband just twisted up the muscles in his back, so I will be doing all the packing myself, and now the big one. My pharmacy ran out of my thyroid meds (I've had a full thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer a couple years ago) so I missed 4 days of T3 and am really feeling it.

I feel overwhelmed and just want to sit down with some chocolate. I wake up early in the morning feeling strong urges to stuff my face with sugary or buttery things.
