First I am sorry about your kidney. Medications can help but they also can harm. Doing your own research is fine actually a great thing. That is one of the reasons I am in this group. Learning from others. The internet has tons of good information and also some that isn't.I just think that checking with your Doctor/neurologist is one way of doing part of the research. My primary DR.Hawk would give me his informed opion. When I ask about something, he will be honest and tells me he will do some research, talk to other DR.s or whatever. I believe he wants whats best for me. Even when he tells me something about a med, herb,I still do my own research (internet, books ect) then I decide for myself what I want in my body. The neurologist I have just started seeing is also my primary Dr.s neurologist. That makes me feel at ease as well. I think of us being myself, Dr. Hawk and Dr. Myers as being my health care team. Different people feel strongly about different sides of things and I will continue to question my Dr. before I take anything.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
