Some people sure can come up with stupid epilepsy research studies. And still refuse to bring true and up-to-date information about seizures and epilepsy to the public attention, nationwide. Did the Epilepsy Foundation provide the funding for this research study?
Here's some brief information about the "Epilepsy and Religious Experiences" I went through back in late 2001. Of all the complex partial seizures I had, one of them finally took place in the middle of July 2001, inside a church I'd been a member of for just under 6 years. A few months later I received a written letter for me to stay out and away from that church. If the reasons why they did this to me applied to everyone of that church, then no one, absolutely no one; no children, no adults, no visitors, not even the pastor, would be allowed to attend that church.
When I told other people about this, I found out that I'm not the only person with epilepsy who's gone though similar situations with churches. What keeps us from suing church leaders is that the American Disability Act (ADA) does not enforce equal rights in religion and private schools. So Disability Discrimination does exist in churches. Over the past few years I've been wondering about something. Of the people who have control of what goes on with religion, do they also have enough control in order to keep information about seizures and epilepsy from being brought to public attention, nationwide?
Let's see if I can conduct a research study right here, right now.
Do you think a New Research Study on Epilepsy and Religious Experiences would be...
1. A Helpful and Useful study? or
2. A Helpless and Useless study?
