Disability checks come to the person disabled and the spouses income has no bearing.

Being married will not affect the disability but the SSI, The wages of the pay stubs have to be mailed into the nearest office and adjusted to your income. I go threw that every month with my wife.

I'm just really concerned about future life's choices while on SSDI; what about... say, I got married; what would happen to my income?
Would it increase because of household expendatures or decrease because of total household income?...us combined, ya know.
Own.. or rent?
One special Lady I know owns her own home. What happens in a case like that? Suppose we were to get married?
(I have a 'special relationship' with a Lady in Canada; but... HELLO! Disability and Politics would DOOM that right off!)
A burden on the state; Marxist-Darwinists have a term, "useless eaters". Just a burden upon the state. An undesirable.
Fuel and or energy assistance?
I feel like I'm in a state of limbo because I know Major life changes are coming down the pike eventually; my family support isn't going to be here for ever ya know.
If I'm on SSDI... am I... NO WE... are we condemned to a life of Legislated Poverty and Dependance?
What kind... or how much... Assets; how much can I... we... be worth?
I'm like staggering blindly into this SSDI stuff.
Don't get me wrong, it's Helped tremendously!
But am I to just remain an indigant 'ward' of the State?
My uncle has a broker he can call and knows the guy by his first name. Making a trade, he picks up the phone and rings the guy up..knows him by his first name... makes the wheeling and dealing.
I don't have that 'broker'. Someone that I Know....that I can Trust.
Someone who, when making those major life choices, I can just ring up and sit down with and chart out a course.
At times I feel like the 'system' is set up to kind of work against us too, and I find myself having to scheme and plan and work around things on the periphery; the shoe don't fit too well.
Okay..enough rambling on.
See Yas

Not to encouraging. I have a disability policy ( I am working and have for 40 years) at age 60 I have a few years to go to medicare so I was hoping the disabiltiiy might be a possibilty. My late husband fought for SS disabilitiy he had hep c and a liver transplant eventually and passed away at age 54. He got it but it was a fight. I know how frustrated we were when he tried to get his So i figured.
I am so down right now it doesnt matter much I guess.

Ep is becoming harder to get a disability for. I tried three times in
different states. I am now 47 and have other problems due to the ep. I
have osteoarthritis due to all the falling.
The drs now tell me to hire an attorney and go for it. The drs say I
will qualify now, but I don't know if I will be refused due to my
husband's income.
I have not been allowed to work since 2001. Good luck.
