Hi Terri,
I had disability since in my 40's too. I heard an ad on the radio about this, and that lead me to apply. I did not work since getting married, and my husband's income had no effect on getting disability. This also covered the expense of getting left temporal
lobectomy about 12 years ago now. I recently turned 65 and my
disability just turned to Social Security. Since I've had the
disability for so many years, it made the Social Security much
larger since you get increases with the disability over the years.
If you apply and have difficulty of any kind, it is worth getting
a lawyer. I do not know where you live, but I did this in
New York. Good luck and keep us posted how it goes.
