[epilepsy] Re: Newbie Intro

Hi Uggie,

I am also a new person in this group. I have a daughter who is 14
years old. She has had epilepsy most of her life. She takes keppra
250mg twice a day and trileptal 900mg in divided doses.

I am wondering about your daughter's headaches and if you have tried
eliminating unnatural food additives. If you haven't tried it, I
would highly recommend that you take out of her diet all foods with
red 40 coloring, all unnatural food colorings, all unnatural food
flavorings, and preservatives. These unnatural additives are known
to cause severe headaches in children and adults. I know a boy who
had weeks of severe headaches and his doctor told his parents to
eliminate all foods with Red 40. His headaches completely quit. I
discovered when I eliminated all these additives in my family, I quit
having headaches. Later I realized that the preservatives in bread
gave me severe headaches in the afternoon. Vanillin (fake vanilla)
found in most chocolate and sweets, gave me headaches if I ate it 2-3
days in a row.
