Hi my name is Uggie (Sharon), I am a SAHM who subs in our local school
district in the cafeteria. I have 3 children: Mindy(Min) 16, Megan 8, and
Teddy 2. My hubby is Ed who is a owner/operator truck driver and runs East
of the Mississippi.
We live in W. Pa on 4 acres with our cat P'nut Butter and Betta fish Mr
Fishy and Indigo. Just had to give away our American Bulldog Bandit -
couldn't get anyone to take care of my younger 2, while Min was hospitalized
this last time, and couldn't leave him home alone for 2 days......
I joined this group so that hopefully someone on here can lead me to better
info than I have found about Grand Mals.... Including how long these side
effects will last - I have included below a history on her seizure disorder
Brief history on Mindy and her seizures.
*As an infant she had 1-3 febrile seizures(fever related)
*As a Toddler (age 3-5) she had Atonic (drop attack) seizures. Had migraines
after seizure was done.
*As a pre-teen (ages 9- present) she had petit mal(day dream) seizures.
Has been seizure free for over a yr now - still on meds though.
*Migraine has been non-stop since Jan 17th - lowest pain level has been a 4
*Grand Mal seizure on Sat - may or may not happen again
-no memory of anything that happened on Friday or Sat (remembers being at
hosp, cant remember y)
-at hospital could remember she was born in Oct, no date though.
-No memory of night at movies with her friends either
-no memory of leaving Rayna's house or even being home b4 the hospital.
-still disoriented and occasional dizziness lingering.
-limited range of motion and weakness in upper extremeties
-was just at store and as she held onto grocery cart - the store started to
spin on her.
**Current seizure meds
Keppra 500 mg (2x day)
