     1/3           cup  cornmeal
     3/4           cup  all-purpose flour
     1/2      teaspoon  baking powder
     1/2      teaspoon  baking soda
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
  1 1/2    Tablespoons  sugar
  1 1/2    Tablespoons  packed light brown sugar
     1/3           cup  buttermilk
  1                     egg
  2          teaspoons  honey
  3          teaspoons  melted butter
     1/2                onion -- thinly sliced
  1                     sweet apple -- cubed
  1       small handful  grated cheddar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 

Combine cornmeal, all-purpose  flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt,
sugar, packed light brown sugar, buttermilk, egg, honey, melted butter,
onion thinly sliced and one cubed sweet apple. Grease a skillet with
butter, fill with batter and top with a small handful of grated cheddar.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
