[epilepsy] Re: VNS Or New Med

My son has had his VNS for a year now. It has helped him. He has reduced his meds. It has helped his confidence and mood. His seizures are probably about half at this point but they say it is a process. I am still thanking God for the VNS. The only negatives, which I say only to be fair and give you a clear pictures, is his voice was a tad hoarse for a couple weeks but is perfectly fine now. He doesn't even really notice when it goes off now. Get the literature from the company and read it. We also got a dvd from them. My son does karate and got a hockey goalie neck guard to wear for sparring but that was pretty much the only thing we had to change. He does always carry is magnet and has his VNS id in his wallet.
