RE: [epilepsy] Education Question...

Regarding Kristy's question.. This may sound silly but is she properly
hydrated? A one % drop in proper hydration is known to equate

With a 5% drop in mental / cognitive ability. We have same sort of issues
with our little one including constipation etc. It is amazing how the brain
is "connected" to that bottom end also.

We worked to get her drinking plenty of good fluids to cure the painful
constipation possibly from her meds and just not drinking enough. We noticed
a very good increase in overall cognitive and personality issues too. We
give her 2 small bottles for school that they return home daily for adding
how much she drinks daily. Once we started counting her fluid intake we knew
she was low and monitoring it now is even become fun for her as its like a
daily challenge!

What kind of test has she had in her classes?
I would have tested for dyslexia. It could be that she is partically
mentally challenged. Have her take what ever tests they offer..

It might be a good idea to keep a diary of what she is having difficulty
with.

It is good to hear that she hasn't had any szs in 2 years.

Is she in a regular class? Counting backwards is hard for me. That doesn't
seem like something a 7 years old girl would do well. I don't think my 3
girls never had to.
