Thanks for your reply. I have arthritis and I also have two cysts on my spine. The pain specialist doesn't think that the pain is from the cysts. He is going to aspirate them as soon as my HMO gives me the referral. He says that there is only a 3% chance that the cysts are causing pain. The surgeon thinks that the cysts are on a nerve and pressing on it may be causing the pain. If the cysts are not the cause of pain, then I will have cortisone injection in my spine. The pain specialist wants to know more about my seizure history so it just made me wonder if the two problems are related. I will check out the website. Thanks again. Take care.

I have a lot of back pain, and what made me think immediately of a type of seizure, is when you think of it
your spine is the base which not only goes up to your brain/head area but I was just guessing here. It also
connects with your legs and feet. The numbness could also be arthritis... or have you had a bone marrow test
taken to make sure you don't have osteoporosis. Our meds just love calcium and eat every bit we take in.
With your spinal stenosis your spinal column is narrowing and could be touching on a nerve also which would
explain the numbness in the legs.
Strange bodies we live in and seems the older we get the more that can go wrong. Guess the only way to fix
that is to protect ourselves against it before it comes.
If you find out is related please let me know also.

I had an appointment with a pain specialist today because I have been having a lot of lower back pain, and I
have moderate spinal stenosis in the lumbar area. I have also been having numbness in my left leg at times.
The doctor seemed very interested in the types of seizures that I have and asked about the meds I am taking
and when my last EEG was. Could numbess in my leg be a type of seizure? It comes and goes and there is no
specific type of movement that seems to bring it on. I was diagnosed with grand mal and absence seizures,
which have been controlled. I have had auras occasionally but they have not been followed by a seizure. This
took me by surprise and now I am concerned that it may be a type of seizure. Does anyone know if this could be
related to epilepsy or is it more likely to be related to problems with my lower back? Thank you and take
