Millie,
The Axelrods' daughter, Lauren, had been put on a number of different meds that all failed until recently. However, there was a young lady on the show, Stephanie, who had a Neuropace implant (also called an RNS) that eliminated her seizures. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of? It is put inside the head, in whatever location is appropriate to help the seizures...
