Hi all,
So I was diagnosed 2 months ago with epilepsy even though I had a normal EEG and just a small lesion on my frontal lobe. The first neuro diagnosed me with epilepsy and sent me home on Keppra XR and said see you in 6 months.
I went to a new neuro today because I was not happy with the first doctor's bedside manner and I was having terrible side affects from the Keppra XR.
This new doctor does not think that I have epilepsy but thinks that I may be having seizures/passing out because I am not getting enough oxygen and blood to my brain. He thinks this occurs when I am having anxiety/panic attack. This seems to make sense because almost 80% of the seisure activity/passing out occurs in a public place or when I feel stressed. Anyways they are going to conduct a 24 hour EEG next week, I go into the docs office they hook me up and I get to take it home for 24 hours. Has anyone had this done?? just wondering what it would be like and has anyone heard off somebody having seizure like episodes triggered by anxiety/stress and lack of blood and oxygen to the brain.
Thanks,
Amy
