Welcome to blahmasham! I, too, combine calorie counting with Fast-5 and have had FABULOUS success with it. Like you, please don't ask me to divide 1500 calories among 3 meals and 2 snacks. In other words, I hate nibbling all day long. Prefer to sit down to a nice meal of hot soup, plate of healthy fish/chicken and veggies, and a light dessert of fruit or pudding. I can do that on 1000 calories if I'm careful, and so can you. Livestrong.com has calorie lookups and a weight charting service for free, in case you're interested.
The Fast-5 diet method definitely works for me. I'm not hungry (much) and I definitely don't feel deprived or annoyed. Have lost 90 pounds in under 7 months!

Hi there friendly folk. I just started eating fast five style yesterday. So I am on day 2. I am in the middle of my eating window, and I don't even think I will finish all the food I planned to eat.
I have been eating, or attempting to eat, on a Calorie restricted diet in the past few months, aiming for 1500 a day. Now I am trying to incorporate calorie restriction with my eating window. I don't think I will have any problem with eating around 1200 cals a day with this style of eating.
For me, at least, it seems to help with alot of the phsycological pitfalls I encountered when I was doing 1500 cals a day eating throughout the day.
I also exercised 1.5 hours yesterday, and .5 hour today, (It would have been longer today if my music player didn't die on me). Basically, so far this has been wonderful, and really fits into my lifestyle.
I look forward to talking and getting to know all these friends here.
Peace out
