Re: [fast5] Diabetic?

What else are you doing about your blood sugar? IMO you will have to be low carb and high fat.  Track your PP for a while to see your patterns and which foods "work" for you and which do not.

I found I had high blood sugars after being on Fast-5 for 6 months .  I was even eating low carb at the time.  It has taken me two years to get my blood sugar to stay below 100. During that time I tried a number of things and was on and off Fast 5 several times, experimenting with various approaches.  Am doing Fast-5  again now and so far blood sugar is still good.  I eat very low carb and high saturated fat and take something called Insulow (R  Alpha Lipoic Acid and Evening Primrose Oil).  Everybody is different, so you will just have to experiment and also understand that healing your liver, which is usually the problem in early blood sugar dysregulation, takes some time.

I started a yahoo group  for this issue

I am back on fast-5 again after a break. I did not know that I had diabetes. My doctor took my A1C in January and it was 5.9 However, I have had gestational diabetes 3 times in the last 6 years or so. I am not pregnant now.

This morning I took my blood sugar, after fasting for about 11 hours or so and it was 129 !!!!!!! And that was fasting!!!! I took it another time before that and it was 119!!!! Whoa! Does anything change for me with this diet/lifestyle if I have diabetes OR pre-diabetes?
