[fast5] Re: Desserts

Hi Wallie,

Yes! I have eaten desserts and lost weight, although I'm a relative rookie when it comes to officially doing FF. I have lost 7 pounds in 4 weeks doing FF. I will say that I think eating *too much* sugar during my window makes me a little hungrier the following day, so I try not to do it every day. I'm able to self-moderate now, and if my appetite seems to increase, I know I've overdone it on the sweets.

I usually have dessert on the weekends, and not during the week, though this is not a hard and fast rule. Sometimes, for dessert on the weekdays, I will have a bowl of fresh berries, sometimes with some creme freche and a sprinkling of brown sugar. I'm trying not to have hard and fast rules about anything, because I like the freedom I get from FF, and I want to focus my time and energy on other areas of my life, like enjoying a walk at the lake or spending time with friends.

Also, when I was instinctively eating this way, i.e. skipping meals because I wasn't hungry (I was also naturally slim then), I sometimes had dessert or sweets, so I figure that my body can tolerate dessert sometimes, and it is normal for me.

The huge benefit to me of doing FF is that my appetite is normal again, and the cravings have disappeared. So I find I don't want dessert as often as I did when I was eating more often. The berries seem like a wonderful treat, whereas when I was eating constantly, it would not have been enough of a dessert.

Hope that helps!

Susie
