Tammy,
I agree with the idea that paramedics are just preventing any possible charge or suit for not taking a person with any type of seizure to the hospital. Without being able to wear the t-shirt at all times, I'd be out of luck most of the time. I've been have that problem with unused MedAlert's, why is it? Aren't they taught to look for one? What does MedAlert say, about the none use? Paramedics should know not to ask any questions that can't be answered w/o Yes or No. I've noticed that after they're on the way, then they ask things like, your name, license or ID, insurance co. and policy No.. At that time I'm usually able to answer these. But I wish they would have asked some-others before they ordered me into their ambulance without a good reason.
