Glad to hear you have that straightened out.Joe has taken both melatonin and Keppra(which he still takes)..I didn't know it could interfere with your thyroid so thanks for letting us know about this.

Okay...so...I have done more detective work today, and it appears that both Melatonin and Keppra can raise thyroid levels. I have been treated for hypothyroid for 2 years, and I'm on a low dose of med for it, but I definitely have some symptoms (besides the sleep loss) of mild hyperthyroid, including oily hair and weight loss.

The really good news is that my dose of thyroid med is so low that together with the Keppra and Melatonin, the thyroid level may be just high enough that I won't have to take (or take as much of) the thyroid med, which is possibly being discontined by the manufacturer. I am calling both my nsg and endo Monday to see about this. The Keppra may need tweaking, too, as I am drug-sensitive and may be on too high a dose.

Thanks, everyone, for your support! :)

LIZARD, who already feels better knowing I'm getting this mess figured out! :)
