Re: [epilepsy] Good idea if they accept your knowledge

Craig,
It's very important if you have a child that the school and teaches know
about the Epilepsy. I've made sure that all of the teachers know about my
daughters seizures and what to look for. Plus, she needs Diastat
administered if she does have a seizure. Who better to educate the public and school
officials than those of us who really know about it.

Mark,
I know going to public schools were not the best years of my life. You
have a good idea to speak to the schools and possible parents too if everyone
could meet at one place. I do not know how much you know about MSG &
Nitrates and the connections they have with causing seizures. I believe they
could maybe be mentioned also along with other things we know that can cause
seizures. Any knowledge today would be helpful to any child or parent that
can educate them on seizure conditions. Hopefully the school administrations
that you may want to talk to, will not have cemment in their heads. I can
not tell you the number of teachers and other people 35 to 40 years ago who
believed they knew more about how I felt in school. They thought as if the
way I told them I was feeling or wanted to do things was all wrong when I
was trying to explain my thoughts. When they do not want to accept yout true
beliefs and thoughts, it is automatic rejection as it
seems to stay with you because you believe no one can trust what you tell
them. Of course the school knew of my condition to a certain extent as I
never had any Grand Mals in school. Today I have the problem convincing
employers to hire me or keep me if they find out about my condition.
Kids today should never have to worry over that 1 day after school much
less 30 + years later. In general 98% of the public are totally retarded
when they look at people like me now as they were the same way when I was in
school. Again, I never mention my health in an interview especially after I
did it the first time after my surgery. Parents should not tell the schools
either about their children unless it is a worse case as mine was not 35
years ago. Even then if a childs case is a major concern, it is highly
possible for the child to get better care in a private school or home school the
child. I could trust my school nurse back then. Today we never know what
type of person is a school nurse and what can happen to a child who can be
unconscience ? I would like to know how many kids today would have any type
of mental or brain conditions compared to the 60's & 70's when I went to
school.
Surely MSG has nothing to do with it. Wait, Or could it ? More kids, more
schools built in 30 years, more fast foods, junk foods & micowave foods
everywhere today, more diet drinks besides TAB & diet Coke, MSG is in ice
cream & candy now. Nooooooo way MSG is a joke, it only happens to me, what was
I thinking ? I'm sure the drug companies will never suffer or go braoke
as long as MSG stays in our foods. Craig
