Hi Erin,
   The nightmares could be due to AEDs.  Some seizure meds have made me have crazy dreams.  It could also be due to nocturnal seizures.  You may be having seizures in your sleep.
 
As far as depression goes.... it's just another common characteristic of epilepsy.  It's in the package.  Make sure you mention this depression to your neurologist.
 
Just my opinion... If your boyfriend says he's embarassed to be with you, he isn't worth your time.

I have a weird seizure question.Does anyone out there have "seizure nightmares"? See,I have them and Idon't know if its because my boyfriend tells me what happens and I obsess about it or do I just feel so embaressed I have nightmares,I have a new friend and i am so worried he is going to leave my life because of it,my boyfriend said he is alread embarassed to be seen in public with me (yes I deal with assholes never been with a good guy)also noticed that certain people with epilepsy suffers from depression.I am one of them.I feel very alone I hope someone writes me back
