This is one of those things that scares me a bit. Due to a "clotting disorder of unknown origin" I take 325 mg of aspirin per day. They don't want to put me on a presription blood thinner unless the I clot on the aspirin because they is so strong. Was tested a few years ago for every known clotting disorder but it was none of those, they said many people who clot have "unknown origin" as the cause.
I have a fear I will either have a stroke from a clot, a bleed in my brain, or some kind of bleed in my GI tract. What a strange line we walk when the cure for one thing can cause something else just as bad!
I am seeing a GI guy next week for gasto-intestinal problems and I think he may tell me all that aspirin, along with everything else, is causing my problems. Catch 22.

Aspirin can cause microbleeds in the brains of 33% of those who take one baby aspirin a day. 1 in 5000 gets a severe brain bleed from this dosage (my DH happened to be that one) and 1 in 1000 gets a severe gastro-intestinal bleed. And that's a whole lot worse than a bit of memory loss one might get by taking anti sz meds.
